On Sunday, November 2nd, at approximately 1839 hours, Task Force 12 was dispatched to the unit block of East Maple Avenue for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 12 responded and, while en route, was advised by the Merchantville Police Department of an active working fire with flames visible from a window. Chief 12 transmitted the Working Fire Box, which brought mutual aid companies from Pennsauken, Westmont Fire Company, Maple Shade, and Mount Laurel. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack, bringing the fire under control within approximately 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Merchantville Fire Marshal’s Office.
